Aspire 5733 review

Right from the start, the Aspire 5733 feels like a budget machine. The plastic body felt low quality and there was a lot of flex on most parts of the body. The screen hinges also felt quite flimsy and the top lid also felt a bit weak. In comparison with the similar Lenovo G570, the Aspire 5733 felt like quite a cheap product, although both are similarly priced. Sadly, the budget feeling does not go away after checking out the display. The laptop offers a good picture quality only if you sit right in front of it. Watching the display from even a slightly tilted angle causes the colours to wash out considerably. The keyboard of the Aspire 5733 was, however, quite good and offered a good typing experience. Although the track pad had good sensitivity, its size was a bit small for our liking. Also, the single piece mouse button felt a little awkward and two separate buttons would have been better. The speakers of the Aspire 5733 were a bit above average and were better than the Lenovo G570. The performance offered by the Dual-Core version was just as expected in the price range but the outdated Core i3 first-generation processor offered much lower performance than other laptops with second generation processors in the same price range. From a budget perspective, the Aspire 5733 is an okay machine that helps you carry out the most basic tasks such as web browsing, emailing and typing with ease. If you do not need a laptop for more advanced work such as gaming or running CPU or GPU-intensive productivity software, the Aspire 5733’s low price warrants it to be checked out. Although the Dual-Core version offers excellent value, the Core i3 version is quite outdated and there are newer machines out there for a slightly higher price with updated CPUs which offer better value for money. The main problem faced by the Aspire 5733 is that the Lenovo G570 is very similarly priced and offers much better quality and this makes the Aspire 5733 quite a tough recommendation.
